Dance Alchemy: Winter Solstice w/Johanna & the Sound Weavers
In this time of the longest night… we take a sacred pause so the silent whisper of our heart can be heard. Nestling into ourselves, we nourish with movement, music, breath, and stillness. The vibrations of pure created sound attune us to natural rhythms. Here we discover our authentic selves, unique voice, and divine direction. Integrated, we leave refreshed, peaceful, feeling blessed.
This music and dance and meditative experience is facilitated by Johanna Zenobia who will lead us through in expressing our energy from the inside out. Helping align us are the masterful musicians Raihan Alam, Berkeley Grimball, Sunya, and Marcella Skiff. Together, they are the SoundWeavers... Our dance will guide their music and their music will inspire our dance, both informed by our collective and individual intentions set for the evening.
Come early to integrate into the evening beginning with some introspection:
- Where have you been to attached to action?
- What do you need to surrender?
- What are you here to nourish in this season of introspection?

Johanna will take us on a dancing tour through the created sounds of clarinet, didgeridoo, drums and flutes, giving guidance on how you can personally integrate each sound into the core of your experience. How does your body become the instrument, and how do the particular sound patterns resolve and express themselves through your individual movement? There is no right and wrong, only tapping into your authentic self.
Then the true alchemy! After we've tried on a few movements to start to learn what fits our unique soul, we'll dive into sound meditation, and allow it to build into a full on conscious dance experience! All surrendered will fade, replaced with our intentions as our North Star guidance.
After we've danced and played it out, yes... sivasana! Sound bath with didgeridoo sound healing served up to each participant individually. Let the ripples of your experience settle at a cellular level.
We'll have time to share on our experience together, or you bring a journal if you'd like. Bring a yoga mat or blanket for maximum comfort during sivasana, or borrow one of ours.
Leave with deep connections forged by co-creation, cleansed, purified, renewed, and ready to flow into the next phase of your life.
